Elizabeth Cowie is a British academic and author, professor of film studies at the University of Kent.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.kent.ac.uk/arts/staff/cowie.html )〕 Cowie a degree in history, politics and sociology.〔 After university, she found work in publishing, and from 1972-76, was editorial assistant for the ''Screen''.〔 In 1982, Cowie joined the University of Kent to teach on its new film studies programme.
